Relevant legal bases

We process personal data in accordance with the following legal bases under Article 6(1) GDPR, depending on the specific purpose:

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): If you have given consent for a specific purpose.
  • Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): Where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract or to take steps prior to entering into a contract.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR): Where processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): Where processing is necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interests, provided such interests are not overridden by your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms.

Security measures

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures in accordance with the legal requirements to ensure a level of protection appropriate to the risk. This includes, in particular, securing the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data.

Our website uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content.

Erasure of data

We delete personal data in accordance with legal requirements as soon as the consents permitting processing are revoked or other permissions cease to apply and the data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. If data must be retained for legal reasons, processing will be restricted to these purposes.

Rights of data subjects

Under the GDPR, data subjects have various rights, in particular under Articles 15 to 21 GDPR, including the right to object, withdraw consent, access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Provision of the online offering and web hosting

We process users' data to provide our online services. For this purpose, we process users' IP addresses, which are necessary to transmit the content and functions of our online services to users' browsers or devices.

Access to our online offering is logged in the form of so-called server log files. Log files are used, among other things, for security purposes and to ensure server utilization and stability.

  • Data deletion: Logfile information is stored for a maximum of 30 days and then deleted or anonymized.
  • Hosting provider: Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany).

Newsletter / coming-soon subscription

If you subscribe to updates, we process your email address and language/locale to send you information about Spellhunters. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Registration, login and user account (Steam)

If you sign in via Steam, we process public profile data such as Steam ID, nickname and avatar URL to create and maintain your user account and to provide login functionality.

Payments (Stripe)

If you purchase packages, payments may be processed via Stripe. Stripe processes payment and transaction data to complete the payment. We do not receive full payment card details.

Analytics (optional)

If we use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) we will only enable them with your consent, where required. Analytics helps us understand how the site is used and improve Spellhunters.

Social & community links (Discord, Steam, etc.)

Our pages may link to external platforms such as Discord, Steam, YouTube, Facebook, or X. When you follow these links, the respective provider is responsible for processing your data.
